With such an extensive choice of designs, colours as well as every material boasting its own unique characteristics, and benefits, deciding on the appearance and product used for the project can be a little overwhelming. We tackle this with you and consult you every step of the way to ensure your vision becomes a reality and is nothing less than perfect.

Our high-quality, hard landscaping offers many advantages. Especially with many of us leading busy lives. A low maintenance area, with a strong resistance to the outdoor elements, a finish that is durable and requires only occasional sweeping, and cleaning, as well as helping to eliminate regular weeding and garden maintenance. These are just a few of the many appealing benefits to your new surface.

Working with you to create a safe, outdoor space for all the family.

Frequently asked questions about patios

Which patio material is best for a shaded or damp garden?

Porcelain is usually the best answer. It is non-porous, so it resists algae and staining far better than natural stone and cleans easily. If you prefer natural stone in a shaded spot, we would recommend a sealed sandstone combined with a drainage design that clears water quickly rather than letting it sit.

How do you stop a patio sinking or holding water?

Three things, all beneath the surface: a properly excavated and compacted sub-base, correct falls so the patio sheds water away from the house, and drainage such as channel drains or soakaways where the site needs them. A patio is only as good as what is underneath it.

Do I need planning permission for a patio?

Usually not for a patio at ground level. Raised patios, decking above a certain height, or work affecting a listed building or a property in a conservation area may need permission. We will flag it if we think it applies to your project.

Can you build a patio on a sloping garden?

Yes. Sloping gardens usually need retaining walls, steps or terracing to create level usable areas. That is groundwork, and it is what we do routinely.
